Christmas Meditation to share with Children

A Christmas meditation with Luke 2:1-8… perhaps you’ll share it with some children in your life (and you may recognise the children who lend their voices to the gospel readings…)

In those days a decree went out from Emperor Augustus
that all the world should be registered.
This was the first registration and was taken while Quirinius was governor of Syria.
All went to their own towns to be registered.
Joseph also went from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, because he was descended from the house and family of David.
He went to be registered with Mary, to whom he was engaged and who was expecting a child.
While they were there,
the time came for her to deliver her child.
And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth, and laid him in a manger,
because there was no place for them in the inn.

Every blessing as you pray, especially in this season of Christmas. Warmest Wishes.

Contemplative at Home offers guided meditative prayer – space to slow down and listen to the truth that is being born out of God’s love for you today – drawing on Ignatian spirituality and at times, Lectio Divina.

  1. Lissy, I wish you and your family wonderful Christmas time, let God be your best friend to love you, heal you, take care of you. Look at a small baby in Bethlehem…he’s such a needed miracle for this world. Thank you for your contemplativeathome.com…my today’s phrase was: ‘there was no place for them’…I now I have large space in my heart and soul, I’ll try to open it for this Bethlehem child…to be opened for all people who need me.
    Take care, blessings
