Poem for Sunday June 14th
Today’s poem is Why I Wake Early by Mary Oliver (1935-2019)
You can listen to the poet reading it here.
Or you can read it on this website.
Not everyone is a “morning person” but we could all get out of bed and
ASK that this very day, whatever comes, we will be thankful and kind.
Try saying as you put your toe out from under the warm duvet: “This is
the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Psalm
118:24).
What we INTEND must surely shape the day.
-Tina Lamb
Thank you Lissy and Tina Lamb for this gift. Celebrating 50 years of marriage this weekend gives pause to all we have to be grateful for—starting with each new morning. Mary Oliver’s word reflects my heart this Sunday morning, June 14, 2020.
