Come Thou Long-Expected Jesus

Dear Friends,

Advent is a time of waiting and preparation for a coming.

During the next few weeks we will base our meditations around the meaning of the candles on the Advent wreath, using passages from Isaiah.

The first candle of the Advent wreath is known as the Prophecy Candle, which represents hope.

We welcome Ceri Durrant’s joyful reading of Isaiah 35 (The Message).

Every blessing as you enter Advent.

Lissy

  1. Wonderful passage to pray with, and I really appreciate the way you led us to pray over a difficult place in our lives. Advent is such a good time for extended prayer for these seemingly intractable things, ‘for nothing is impossible for God’.

  2. I had been searching for advent readings then remembered your beautiful podcasts. Thank you Lissy and Ceri, so good to hear your voices again! Feel encouraged by the hope, peace and joy of this passage.

  3. Thank you for offering these prayers. Today I especially appreciated the song refrain you prayed at the end of the episode…come thou long expected Jesus…what hope we have in Jesus’ coming and doing what He purposed to do in His birth!

I'd love to hear from you!
