  1. Hi, just so you know I think the most recent podcast is the unedited version. 🙂

Hi Lissy– Helma here… I just wanted to give you a heads up about the meditation you posted a few days ago… I am wondering if it is a ‘draft’ version… You usually choose to have music at the beginning, and there is no music on this track. Also: in the first few minutes there are a few ‘false starts’ (incomplete sentence; sentence starts twice) and further on we can here you yawn and shuffle some paper–which are all very real and authentic, but I doubt that is what you intended:-) Just thought I would let you know! Peace and grace to you

  3. Hi Jamie and Helma == thank you for the heads up!!! EEK! That’s a bit embarrassing! I’m moving a little too quickly over here these days…

The final version is now live, refresh your browser and it should appear.

Really appreciate you letting me know.

  4. Dear Lssy, Thank you for the contemplation on “Born from Above.” Beautiful. I am a Spiritual Director, Grief Recovery Counsellor, was a pastor for 25 years and a prison chaplain for 5. I grew up in the protestant tradition but whilst doing a Master’s Degree in Theology at Concordia University Montreal , was introduced to Ignatian Spirituality. I then did 5 years of formation at the Ignatian Centre there and began leading retreats and teaching classes in the Catholic and Anglican churches of Montreal. Your story (I am originally from California) and your pilgrimage into contemplative prayer and Ignatian practices is the pilgrimage I have been graced to make. I love your web-sight as well as your in-sight. It has always struck me how Jesus was inviting Nicodemus to be born from above, that is, to wake up to a higher consciousness which is nothing less than the experience of God’s presence in the here and now. I love the language “born from above,” as the reversal of Genesis 3 and the “Fall.” What did Adam and Eve “fall” down from? They fell from living in the awareness of God’s presence. How we all need to continually be born from above. As I was praying with your meditation, I was anticipating “Born Again.” My face lit up with joy not only that you brought out the deeper meaning of ἄνωθεν but that you then focused the prayer there. Wonderful. May you experience birth from above and the joy it brings when you read these words from one moved by pneuma that blew through your offering. Thank you.

PS: I will inform my directees and clients of your wonderful sight.

  5. Dear Brent, thank you so much for your rich reflection and sharing a bit of your story! Its so good to meet you here, thank you for engaging! I really appreciate it. Blessings on you and your many ministries – I’m really grateful to overlap with you in this way. Warmly, Lissy

  6. Ah, thank you for your kind words Lissy. It’s amazing what graces technology can afford…that I could talk in cyberspace to the person whose voice God speaks his grace through. Lately, I have been using your meditation “Centering Prayer” every day for a month. Thank you for being the heart and voice of God in the wonderful Lissy form.

I'd love to hear from you!
