Meditation with Psalm 16

In this 20 minute session of guided prayer, we meditate on Psalm 16.

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
    apart from you I have no good thing.”

Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more.
   – Psalm 16:2, 4

There is goodness beyond our wildest imagination available to us right now, right here in our every day lives. And yet so often I turn to the ‘other gods’ of comfort, numbing out on social media, mindless television, food…. We know however, that when we numb pain and discomfort, we also numb joy.

So we return to our breath, and look around and count our blessings.

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    surely I have a delightful inheritance. – Psalm 16:6

Delight. Pleasure. Joy. May you find yourself at home.

You make known to me the path of life;
    you will fill me with joy in your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at your right hand. – Psalm 16:11

Every blessing as you pray.
