A Soul Friend to Companion You Through the Many Seasons of your Spiritual Life

Spiritual Direction (or Spiritual Accompaniment) is the practice of spending an hour with a wise, trained listener once every 4-8 weeks. A spiritual director is a companion on your spiritual journey who encourages you as you deepen your understanding of God and your identity in God.

In spiritual direction, I imagine myself to be walking alongside you, my pilgrim, as you travel more deeply into God’s boundless love. During our sessions, we attend to the holy ground that is your own life and heart. We listen with the ears of the heart for the stirring presence of the Spirit

A spiritual companion holds space in the presence of the Lord for your experience, thoughts and emotions. The questions of spiritual accompaniment include “Where is God in this?”, ”How does God relate to me?”, “What am I being drawn towards?” and “What is prayer like for me at present?”

These relationships, once established, often last for many years, though either party is always free to conclude the relationship for any reason.

Engaging Lissy as Your Spiritual Director

After a foundation course with the Jesuits in Ireland at Manresa House I trained in Spiritual Direction with the Anglican Diocese of Coventry in the UK. I have worked as a Spiritual Companion for over 10 years and trained in supervision in 2020 and I am a member of the Diocese of Coventry Network of spiritual companions.

I see pilgrims between 10:30-3pm, UK time, Monday - Wednesday.

Yes, I am open to working with you on a supervision basis. Please contact me to arrange an initial conversation.

Where do sessions take place?

I meet some clients at my home in Warwickshire, and others via Zoom.

How long do they last for?

Sessions last for one hour.

How do you begin or end a spiritual direction relationship?

The spiritual direction relationship can last for many years, but either party is free to conclude the relationship at any time. Every year a review of the relationship is conducted.

Do you offer any other personalised services?

Yes, I’d be very happy to chat with you about hosting a retreat, quiet day or creative prayer experience for you or your group. Please contact me to discuss your requirements.
