Examen for Children

This very special episode of Contemplative at Home is to share with the children in your life.

Its probably best suited to children age 4-10, but hopefully will be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Featuring two little boys who mean the world to me!

Enjoy xx

Contemplative at Home offers guided meditative prayer – space to slow down and listen to the truth that is being born out of God’s love for you today – drawing on Ignatian spirituality and at times, Lectio Divina.

  7. Hi Lissy – thank you so much for this. I really love your podcast and I’ve just been doing a week with some kids around listening prayer and imaginative contemplation. We used this examen for kids and they loved it so I was wondering if you had or were aware of any resources like this for kids to help them grow in this kind of praying. Thank you so much 🙂

  8. Thank you so much for getting in touch Sandra, I’d love to know what you did with the children re imaginative contemplation, sounds great. I would definitely suggest the book ‘Sleeping with Bread’ by the Linns, and I think Pray as You Go has done an examen for children as well. My mom is the expert on all things children’s spirituality so I will find out whether she has any recommended resources and let you know.

  9. Hi Sandra – one more book which might be of interest for you if you’re not already using it is:
Journey to the Heart: Centering Prayer for Children by Frank X Jelenek

Also, this is probably aimed at a younger group than yours, but you may find interesting nonetheless: https://playandpray.net
