CAH 05 Mary and Martha

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are necessary – or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her” Luke 10:41-42Johannes_(Jan)_Vermeer_-_Christ_in_the_House_of_Martha_and_Mary_-_Google_Art_Project

Two sisters

Different characters, different instincts

Each full of faith

Each turning to Jesus in her own way.

Will you sit at Jesus’ feet and listen to what he has to say?

Every blessing friend.

  1. Hey! I just got back from retreat in North Wales and I got the same Martha and Mary painting, that you have on this blog post, given to me by my spiritual director. I have been meditating on this all weekend and loved this podcast. So what stood out for me was that Martha welcomed Jesus into her home but her soon became a chore, another thing to do. My heart wants Jesus but I am quick to put him on my chore list rather than throwing myself at his feet. I even did my own pastel version of the painting! I would love to hear the teaching you did for your women’s group or read any notes. Praying for you. Much love.

  2. Oh wonderful to hear all of this!! Thank you so much for sharing! I’m so glad you’ve been at Beuno’s.
I don’t think the talk was recorded but I’ll email you my notes. LOTS OF LOVE xxx

I'd love to hear from you!
